Born 1965 in Penza, UDSSR – lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia
The Russian born artist Vadim Fiškin highlights the connection between art and science. Current scientific developments and a society, that becomes more and more technocratic, stimulates and at the same time characterizes Fiškins oeuvre. The artist, that lives and works in Slovenia, plays in his comprehensive installations with the senses of the beholder, guiding to the unknown. In his artworks the allegorical power of the image becomes present: Absurd situations are created, that challenge the beholders’ expectations and perception. Fiškin was presented at the Russian pavilion at the Venice Biennial in 1995 and further in 2005 for Slovenia.
