Born 1977 Piaseczno, Poland – lives and works in Warsaw and Paris
The artistic process of the Polish artist Marzena Nowak equals a constant search. Different lines, shapes, forms are investigated and brought together in accumulations of ideas, memories and notions in order to discard and fragment them. With different visual elements, Nowak creates nets of traced memories and thoughts of past situations, moments of emotions, distance and nearness. The artist’s objects and installations are personal communication instruments of individual memories, that become finally an open poetic projection surface. Nowak has received several stipends, such as by the “Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Poland” in 2015, by the “Austrian Ministry of Culture” in 2013 and by the “International Studio & Curatorial Program” New York in 2014.
