Francesco SENA’s works are often described as mystic, fantastic, cryptic and spheric. And it is true: The surface made of wax seems to dip the picture’s content into fog. Trees, forests and landscape become blurred, they are distant and strange, so you want to come closer to study and focus on details. There is neither light nor shadow and still his work has atmosphere and spatial depth. Sena removes saturation and nevertheless these monochrome images do not seem plain or two-dimensional.
He creates his own world, a world that one wants to know more about.
